"Kasteel Oud-Poelgeest", located in #Oegstgeest (Zuid-Holland), originated around 1300 as a fortified house in a marshy area. The castle, set on a 10-hectare estate with a deciduous forest, pond, and streams, features a 19th-century coach house, chapel, gardener's house, and well. Rebuilt in its current style around 1640, it housed notable resident Herman Boerhaave around 1725, who planted unique trees and a herb garden. The onion-shaped towers date to the 19th century.
