The "Aachen Rathaus" (town hall) in #Aachen 🇩🇪 is a gothic building built ~1330–1350 on the foundations of Charlemagne's 9th-century Palace. It incorporates the ancient Granus Tower from the Carolingian era. Originally a secular gothic structure with cross-ribbed vaults, it served as imperial coronation banquet hall and city administration.
