Description

"Huis Millen" in #Sittard (Limburg) is a moated brick castle complex with four buildings and two gatehouses around an elongated pentagonal courtyard. The oldest parts are 15th-century gates and the residence core; expansions occurred in the 16th, late 17th (1699), 18th (coach houses), and early 19th centuries, finalizing the courtyard layout with cobblestone paving, cart tracks, and gutters. The two-story residence has a slate saddle roof, 1699 anchors, regular windows in Empire style, a 19th-century central entrance, 1838 round stair tower, and ca.1870 extension. The east gatehouse features a round-arch passage, gothic niche, and guard traces.
