The former Piëtas Life Insurance office in #Utrecht, built in 1904 to J.A. van Straaten's design, reflects influences from H.P. Berlage and F.L. Wright. Located at Drift and Nobelstraat, it features a rectangular plan with a corner tower, clad in various natural stones. The Nobelstraat facade has three stories with a roof, while the Drift side is basements with two stories. The square tower, topped with a stone spire and clocks, rises prominently. Double stone cross and cloister windows adorn the facades, with bronze shopfronts added in 1947. The Drift entrance has a double wooden door within a neo-romanesque arch, decorated with a statue of Gentleness flanked by Wisdom and Vigilance putti. A knight statue adorns the tower.
