Description

The town hall of #Ronse (Oost-Vlaanderen), has a history dating back to around 1240 when the city gained its charter. A 17th-century aldermen's house was demolished in 1949, along with adjacent buildings, to make way for a new city hall designed by Frank Blockx. The building features a representative front facing the market, with administrative wings behind. Its symmetrical design mirrors the earlier structure, with a taller central section topped by a slate-covered gable roof and a small tower with a needle spire, crowned by the gilded city coat of arms.
