The town hall of #Peer (Limburg), built in 1637 in Mosan Renaissance style, is the oldest preserved town hall in Belgian Limburg. It used to house a cloth hall and covered market on the ground floor, with meeting rooms upstairs and a cellar used as a dungeon. The attic was rented for economic activities like drying malt and hops. Damaged in 1798 by brigands, it was restored in 1861 and 1898-1902, when the open hall was enclosed.
