Kasteel Hoogenweerth

Description

"Kasteel Hoogenweerth" is a castle-like country house in #Maastricht (LImburg). Mentioned as "Houweert" in the 15th century, it was owned by prominent families like Van Buel, Prenten, and Vaes. Antonius Vaes built the current castle in the Maasland renaissance style, with later expansions by his descendants. In the 19th century, the Regout family extended it. The main building features a rectangular design with a tower and a mix of renaissance and neoclassical elements. The estate includes a 4.5-hectare park with a monumental beech tree, surrounded by water bodies from gravel extraction.
