Description

The City Hall of Mechelen (Antwerpen), located on the Grote Markt, consists of three parts: the Palace of the Great Council, the belfry, and the cloth hall. The palace, designed by Rombout II Keldermans in 1526, remained unfinished for centuries and was only completed in neo-gothic style between 1900-1911. The gothic belfry from the 14th century was later enriched with baroque elements. The cloth hall, originally from the 14th century, was rebuilt after a fire in 1342.
