The Brussels Stock Exchange, an eclectic building designed by architect Léon-Pierre Suys, was constructed between 1868 and 1873 in #Brussels, Belgium. Established by a decree on July 8, 1801, during the Napoleonic era, the exchange initially operated from various locations, including a former Augustinian convent. Due to significant economic and industrial growth in Belgium, there was a pressing need for a new, dedicated exchange building. In 1865, Suys's plan was selected, which included covering the river Zenne and creating broad boulevards, with the new exchange as a central feature. The building was inaugurated on December 27, 1873, in the presence of King Leopold II.
