De Vooruit

Description

"De Vooruit" is a historic building in #Gent (Oost-Vlaanderen), Belgium, originally built between 1911 and 1914 as the festival and cultural centre of the socialist workers' cooperative "Vooruit", founded by Edward Anseele in 1891. Designed by architect Ferdinand Dierkens in Art Nouveau/Art Deco-style, the venue included a ballroom, cinema and theatre for affordable worker entertainment and education.
