"Cleydael Castle" is a square medieval moated fortress in #Aartselaar (Antwerpen), Belgium, built on an island between branches of the Struisbeek. Its foundations date to around 1350, with upper parts from the 16th-17th centuries. Each of its four wings features a tower with a name: Owl, Cat, Fox (with pointed spire), and Chapel (with star vault). First mentioned in 1259, it passed through noble families including Sanders van Hemessen and Van den Cruyce.
