"Slot van Well", also known as "Huis van Malsen", is a moated castle located in #Well (Gelderland), the Netherlands. Likely constructed in the 14th century by Nicolaas van Malsen, it began as a square residential tower with walls approximately one meter thick. In the 16th century, additions such as a gabled roof, towers, battlements, and a double moat enhanced its appearance, serving more for prestige than defense. The castle suffered significant damage in 1672 during attacks by French troops. Subsequent restorations included the addition of a round corner tower in the 19th century, a crenellated forebuilding in 1884, and a drawbridge with a gatehouse in 1934.
