"Château Neercanne", located near #Maastricht (Limburg) in the Jeker Valley, is the only terraced castle in the Netherlands. Built in 1698 by Daniël Wolf van Dopff, then military governor of Maastricht, it showcases Dutch classicism with French-style baroque terraced gardens. The site has historical significance dating back to Roman times, with ancient marl quarries now serving as wine cellars and dining areas. The castle's outbuildings, including a distinctive corner tower, were constructed in 1611 in the Mosan renaissance style.
