Description

A monumental corner office building in #Antwerpen, designed in neo-gothic and neo-traditional style in 1904 by architect Joseph Hertogs for shipowner Daniel Steinmann-Haghe. It was part of a prestigious development aiming to enhance the area around the Vleeshuis. The richly detailed architecture imitates early 16th-century gothic brick and sandstone styles, with features such as stepped gables, corner towers, and sculpted friezes. Iconography includes Swiss cantonal coats of arms and maritime symbols, which reflect the Steinmann family's heritage and trade.
