The "Pupillenschool" (Building C), built 1877-1878 in neo-renaissance style with classicist features, lies along Zandpad near the Vecht bridge in #Nieuwersluis (Utrecht), west of the former parade ground in the Nieuwersluis barracks complex. Designed by engineer L.J. Hielen, it was raised by one floor in 1936-1937. The elongated 7x46m building has three stories under a gabled roof, with two corner pavilions. Its grey brick facade, with white plaster accents, features nine-pane windows, decorative keystones, and a symmetrical 15-axis front. The central entrance, framed by ornate pilasters and a pediment, includes a double door and a cartouche with the inscription "PUPILLENSCHOOL" and royal crest. The building retains historical and architectural value for its design, exterior details, and role within the complex, enhanced by its prominent Vecht location.
