The "Brusselpoort" is the only surviving city gate of original twelve of #Mechelen (Antwerpen). It was built in the 13th century and was constructed from Tournai stone, later enhanced with lighter Balegem stone. It exemplifies Scheldt gothic architecture. In the 16th century, its towers were lowered, and the roof was modified.
