Description

"Hotel New York" in #Rotterdam (Zuid-Holland) is housed in the former headquarters of the Holland-America Line, built between 1901 and 1917 in Jugendstil style by architects J. Muller, C.M. Droogleever Fortuyn, and C.B. Van der Tak. Situated on the Wilhelminapier, it served as a departure point for many emigrants heading to America. After the last transatlantic liner departed in 1971, the building fell into disuse. It was revitalized and opened as a hotel in 1993.
