Kruittoren

Description

The "Kruittoren" is a remnant of Nijmegen's old city fortifications, located along Parkweg at the edge of Kronenburgerpark. Built in 1426, the tower stands approximately 30 meters tall. In the 19th century, during the sale of fortification works, the state retained ownership of the tower to prevent its demolition. On January 15, 2016, ownership transferred from the Rijksgebouwendienst to the Monumentenbezit foundation.
