Description

The "Armour–Stiner House" in #Irvington (NY) is a unique octagon-shaped Victorian residence and the world's only fully domed octagonal home. Built 1859-1860 by financier Paul J. Armour, inspired by Orson Squire Fowler's book promoting octagons for efficiency, light, and space. In 1872, tea merchant Joseph Stiner bought it, adding the distinctive dome, colonnaded veranda, and Roman temple-inspired features (1872-1876), creating an eclectic landmark.
