Flinders Street Station

Description

"Flinders Street Railway Station" in #Melbourne, Australia's oldest city station (opened 1854), began as simple sheds. The building, completed in 1910 after a 1899-1902 design competition, was won by railway employees James Fawcett and H.P.C. Ashworth. Its Edwardian Baroque (or Federation/Edwardian) style draws from French Renaissance influences, featuring a striking yellow facade, red brick accents, green copper dome, arched entrances and clock tower.
