"Palais Bénédictine" in #Fécamp is an extravagant late-19th-century palace blending neo-gothic and neo-renaissance styles with eclectic historicism and early Art Nouveau hints. Commissioned by liqueur inventor Alexandre-Prosper Le Grand, a passionate art lover, it was designed by architect Camille Albert and built starting in 1882. First inaugurated in 1888, it was devastated by fire in 1892 and rebuilt in its present form. Meant to fuse art, industry, and local monastic tradition, it features ornate ironwork by Ferdinand Marrou and rich interiors showcasing Le Grand's collections of medieval/renaissance art, religious objects, and abbey relics.
