Description

A corner building in #Antwerpen, constructed in Flemish neo-renaissance style. It was designed in 1879 by architect Charles Seldenslach and built in 1880. The rich sculptural design, especially the corner turret depicting the Four Crowned Martyrs (patrons of masons and related trades), underscores this intent. Among the earliest private examples of Flemish neo-renaissance in the city, the building features red brick facades with abundant natural stone accents, diamond bosses, root-motif pilasters, a central oriel window, and a finely carved five-sided corner turret topped by an onion spire.
