The "Vry Huys Vry Erve", long known as "De Wapens van Zeeland", is a three-storey house in #Gent, erected in 1702 in Louis XIV style. Its plastered brick-and-sandstone facade boasts colossal Corinthian pilasters, arched windows with pediments and festoons, a central 19th-century iron balcony, richly decorated round-arched entrance with fanlight angels, and a striking octagonal lantern atop the hipped slate roof. Formerly exempt from cijns (ground tax), its pre-1702 history remains largely unrecorded beyond the name and status.
