A historic mansion in #Antwerpen, known as "Hotel Delbeke" (formerly "Sinte Peter" or "Onse Lieve Vrouwe"), originated in 1516 and was largely rebuilt in baroque style in 1647-49 by merchant Balthasar de Groote-Fourment, with a summer house added in 1659. Owned by the Moretus family in the 18th century, it fell into decay by 1880 but was magnificently restored in 1897 by Baron Auguste Delbeke, a prominent Catholic politician, minister, and industrialist. This grand complex features four wings around a courtyard, a richly sculpted 1647 sandstone facade with a notable coach gate attributed to Artus Quellinus, ornate pilasters, and elaborate baroque details throughout.
