Description

"Huis Vliek" is a white-plastered two-story country house in Louis XIV style, located in the hamlet of Vliek near #Ulestraten (Limburg). Built in 1908 by Amsterdam architect Eduard Cuypers, it features pilasters, a rounded central risalit, and an extra floor in the attic. Wings flank the main building, enclosing a courtyard with a ca. 1800 farmstead (north) and two wings, one housing a coach house. The interior has an oval hall with Louis XVI stucco decorations. Adjacent to the house is a 1908 park by Dirk Tersteeg, enhancing a ca. 1800 landscape park, with two ponds, bathhouse, ornamental bridge and sundial.
