Description

"De Groote Robijn" complex in #Antwerpen features a preserved 16th-century north wing with a house tower, a late-classical mansion with an 1802 facade, a neo-traditional apostoline convent with a neo-gothic chapel from 1902-1907, and later school buildings. Built before the mid-16th century by François van der Dilft, it was owned by Antoon van Straelen until his 1568 execution. Jesuits used it as a boarding school in 1651. In 1802, a new facade was designed by Jan Kaulman.
