Stadhuis van Tienen

Description

The town hall of #Tienen (Vlaams Brabant) is located on city's central square since 1635. Its exact origins are unclear, but the current building, originally in Flemish renaissance style, was owned by the Immens family in the 16th century and acquired by the city in 1712. In 1836-37, the facade was rebuilt under K.L. Drossart's plans, featuring six Corinthian columns and a cornice. The new facade includes niches with busts of Van Dyck, Rubens, Coebergher, Emperor Charles V, Vesalius, Grétry, and Justus Lipsius.
