The town hall of #Schoten (Antwerpen), built in 1904-1907 in Flemish neo-renaissance style by architect Louis Gife. Plans for a town hall began in the 1820s, but financial constraints delayed construction. In 1840, architect Berckmans’ costly design was rejected. By 1851, land was acquired, and a smaller building was completed in 1854. Deemed too small by 1892, new land was purchased in 1902, and the current town hall was constructed for 47,672 francs. The building features a brick and sandstone exterior with a polygonal corner tower, stepped gable, and ornate details like diamond-headed door frames and cross-mullioned windows.
