Description

"Huis Brakel", part of the Brakel estate in #Brakel (Gelderland), the Netherlands, was completed in 1768 after the previous house was destroyed by the French in 1672. Built near the ruins of Brakel Castle, which became uninhabited and fell into ruin by the 18th century, the estate was inherited by Wilhelmus van Dam van Brakel in 1809. He shaped the neoclassical house, partially plastered in white, and the estate as they exist today. The house features a clock tower connecting the main building to the coach house.
