The "Modepaleis", built in Second Empire style, stands at the corner of Kaasrui and Melkmarkt in #Antwerpen. Designed by Charles Dens in 1870 for François Thiéry & Cie, it was initially 8 bays wide, expanded by 4 bays in 1871. In 1908, Gustave Hubrecht modified it for Gouverneur & Pirson, adding a new storefront, a full-width balcony, a lantern dome, and a private vestibule. The building has 12 bays, 4 stories, a mansard roof, and a plastered facade with bluestone accents. The storefront features Tuscan pilasters, upper floors have window registers in molded frames, and a lantern tower crowns the chamfered corner.
