The Cloth Hall of Ieper (West-Vlaanderen), one of Europe's largest gothic civil buildings, was constructed between approximately 1230 and 1304, serving as a major cloth trading center. The 70-meter-high belfry was added starting in 1250. In 1360, the wooden "Gulden Halleke" was built on the east side, later replaced by the "Nieuwerck" in 1620.
