Kasteel Den Halder

Description

"Kasteel Den Halder", located in #Valkenburg (Limburg), the Netherlands, is a castle along the Geul River, originating as a medieval defense tower within the town's fortifications. First mentioned in 1381, it was a fortified tower by 1573, inhabited by Peter van Ellerhorn. It became a true castle in the 17th century after a major renovation by Gerard van Meer in 1635, including a farm, oil mill, orchards, and ponds.
