The "Nieuwe Kerk" in #Delft is a gothic Protestant church on the main square. Construction of its stone basilica began in 1396, with the tower completed in 1496, exactly 100 years later. The 108.75m tower (2nd tallest in NL) was rebuilt in 1872 by Pierre Cuypers after lightning damage. Historically, it became the burial site of the Dutch royal family starting with William the Silent's mausoleum.
