The Karmelietessenklooster in #Boxmeer (Noord-Brabant), the Netherlands, was founded in 1672 in "Huis Elzendael", the former villa of pastor Peelen. Dedicated to Maria Magdalena de’ Pazzi, it aimed to provide quality education for girls, unusual for Carmelite nuns, who traditionally lived cloistered lives. The convent grew, welcoming nuns fleeing the French Revolution around 1781. Despite restrictions under Napoleon, it flourished and established new foundations in Xanten and Zenderen.
