"Huis Almelo", a historic estate in #Almelo (Overijssel), was the center of the Almelo lordship, first mentioned in the 13th century. Egbert van Almelo’s 1297 will referenced his castle. Its original appearance is unknown, but a 1560 map by Jacobus van Deventer offers insight. Rebuilt in 1652 by Zeger van Rechteren with brick, glazed tiles, marble columns, and Italian fireplaces, it was damaged in 1665-1666 by Münster troops.
