The "Sint-Donaasproosdij", a baroque building on the Burg in #Brugge (West-Vlaanderen), was the former seat of the Sint-Donaas ecclesiastical lordship. Established in 1089 under Robrecht I, its provosts became hereditary chancellors of Flanders, managing both county administration and a significant ecclesiastical lordship. From 1560, Bruges' bishops inherited these titles. Built in 1665-1666 by Cornelis Verhouven and Frederic Hillewerve, the current structure showcases Antwerp-style baroque architecture, unique in Bruges. Its monumental gate, adorned with Justice and Greek gods, features rich sculptures by Cornelis Gailliaert.
