Description

The Royal Palace of Brussels, located at Place des Palais in #Brussel, is Belgium's primary royal residence, housing the king's offices and royal family services. Used for official duties like audiences and receptions, it's not the king's home (he resides at Laeken Castle). Built on the site of the destroyed Coudenberg Palace, it evolved from two 18th-century buildings, Belgiojoso and Bender, unified in the 1820s under King William I. The neoclassical facade, completed in 1826, was later enhanced by Leopold II, who added the grand Throne Room and Honor Staircase. The palace doubled in size, featuring ornate interiors with Empire and Louis XVI styles.
