Description

"Kasteel de Viron" in #Dilbeek (Vlaams-Brabant) was built in 1862-63 on the site of a demolished 14th‑century fortified manor. Commissioned by the noble de Viron family, the new Renaissance‑Revival château was designed by Jean‑Pierre Cluysenaar. The three‑storey red‑brick structure features 12 towers, 52 rooms, 365 windows, and 7 staircases. Within its surrounding landscaped park lies the Sint‑Alenatoren, the lone surviving medieval tower—named after Saint Alena, dating from the original 13th‑century water castle.
