Kasteel Oldenaller

Description

"Kasteel Oldenaller" is a brick manor and former medieval castle located near #Putten (Gelderland). The Aller estate is documented from the 14th century onwards. Around 1655, Johan van Wijnbergen commissioned a new classicist house, possibly designed by Jacob van Campen and completed by his pupil Philips Vingboons in 1665. During the Franco-Dutch War of 1672 it was temporarily occupied by French troops and suffered damage . In 1848, Baron van Goltstein modernized it: architect K.G. Zocher added a square tower, applied a white plaster façade, and redesigned the grounds with an English-style landscape garden.
