Description

The "Prinsenhof" in #Groningen, began as a religious house for the Brethren of the Common Life in 1436, with a church completed in 1487. In 1569 it became the bishop's palace. After the 1594 Reductie, it was used by the Princes of Nassau, hence the name "Prinsenhof". Between 1622 and 1627, a renaissance garden was added by Ernst Casimir and Sophia Hedwig, featuring rose and herb sections and buxus hedges shaped into initials.
