Description

The "Ambtmanshuis" in #Tiel (Gelderland), the Netherlands, is a 16th-century monumental building originally commissioned in 1525 by Adriaan van Bueren, ambtman of Neder-Betuwe. Construction began in 1542 and was completed around 1550. The house served as the residence of successive ambtmannen until 1750. In the 19th century, it was owned by jhr. P.A. Reuchlin, who established a cotton mill and later the headquarters of the Dutch Fire Insurance Company. The surrounding landscape garden, designed circa 1850 by Karel George Zocher, features a teahouse and a neoclassical coach house/orangery.
