The "Waterpoort" (also known as "Porta Regia" or "Coninckxpoort") is a monumental gate in #Antwerpen, Belgium. Erected in 1624 as an honorary arch for King Philip IV of Spain, it was sculpted by Huibrecht van den Eynde and Johannes van Mildert. Originally located on the Vlasmarkt by the Scheldt River, it served as a water gate providing access from the river to the city. Although the design is attributed to Peter Paul Rubens, there is no concrete evidence of his involvement. Due to urban developments, the gate was relocated twice: first to Sint-Jansvliet in the 1880s, then to the Gillisplaats in 1936.
