Description

The Maaspunttoren, also known historically as the "tower at the high Maaspunt," Rondeeltoren, or Lambrechtsrondeel, is a medieval wall tower located on the right bank of the Maas River in Maastricht, Netherlands. Situated at the junction of Stenenwal and Maaspuntweg, it once formed part of the southwestern defenses of the Wyck city wall, alongside the Recentoren. The tower likely dates back to the 14th century and has undergone several renovations over the centuries. In 1911, it was partially rebuilt during a restoration. Today, the Maaspunttoren is recognized as a national monument.
