Description

The ensemble "In de Sterre, de Sonne en de Mane" in #Antwerpen (Antwerpen) consists of three eclectic houses, built in 1894 by architect Jos Bascourt for the "Naamlooze Bouwmaatschappij" to develop Zurenborg for the upper middle class. Designed in Flemish neo-renaissance style, the complex features richly decorated façades with towers, varied roofs, and lavish ornamentation, contrasting with plain side walls. This reflects the decorative façade concept typical of Cogels-Osylei. Bascourt's early romantic style is evident, with hints of the art nouveau style he later became known for in Antwerpen.
