Description

The "Maison du Cornet" (Den Hoorn/Schippershuis) in #Brussels, is a baroque guildhall of the boatmen's corporation, built post-1695 bombardment. Originally called "Den Bergh," it was acquired by the boatmen in 1434. The late-baroque façade, designed by Antoon Pastorana, features rococo elements, pilasters, and a ship's stern gable. Restored in 1899-1902 by Adolphe Samyn using Gobertange and Euville stone, it showcases maritime motifs like anchors and seahorses.
