The "Palace of the Count of Flanders" is a neoclassical building in #Brussels, Belgium, constructed between 1776 and 1781 for Countess Brigitte of Tirimont-Templeuve. Designed by French architect Gilles-Barnabé Guimard, it was originally known as the Hôtel de Templeuve and was part of the urban development around the Place Royale. After the Countess's death, the property changed hands several times, serving various purposes, including housing the Ministry of War and the Royal Athenaeum of Brussels. In 1866, Prince Philippe, Count of Flanders, acquired the palace and commissioned architects Gustave Saintenoy and Clément Parent to expand and renovate it.
