Description

The "Weltermolen" is a watermill located in Welten, a district of #Heerlen (Limburg), the Netherlands. Situated at the edge of the Weltervijver, it is powered by the Geleenbeek stream. The mill is a mid-flight mill (middenslagmolen) and serves as a gristmill (korenmolen). First mentioned in 1381, the Weltermolen was historically associated with Huis Strijthagen (also known as Huis te Welten). The current structure features a mansard roof, dormer windows, and a tower. Adjacent to the mill is a residence with a similar mansard roof and two barns. The mill was restored in 1982 and operates on designated visitor days.
